Kelsey Doyle Participates In Experiential Learning Class at University of Delaware

Kelsey Doyle, of Branford, CT participated in an innovative transdisciplinary course at the University of Delaware this spring.

The course, entitled Chronic Illness in America: From Policy to Person, incorporates both classroom and experiential learning by pairing students with chronically ill clients in the community. During the semester, Doyle and peers were exposed to the social, financial, physical and emotional issues surrounding chronic illness through direct experience with patients.

The class is co-taught by Cynthia Diefenbeck, assistant professor in UD's School of Nursing, and Sarah LaFave, a UD graduate who started the student volunteer organization, Lori's Hands.
