University of Delaware baseball player and Cherry Hill, NJ native Jimmy Yezzo was nationally honored by Perfect Game for his outstanding performance during the summer baseball season in the Valley Baseball League.

Perfect Game named Yezzo a second team All-American Summer Baseball League third baseman behind Troy University's Danny Collins in addition to being the No. 2 Top Prospect in the Virginia-based Valley Baseball League. Playing for the Winchester Royals, Yezzo hit .362 (79-for-218) with 16 home runs and 62 RBI in 52 games. Yezzo was named to the VBL All-Star Game and earned two VBL Player of the Week selections. The Royals posted a 36-16 record and won the VBL Northern Division title before losing to Harrisonburg in the championship round. "Jimmy has turned into one of the most fierce hitters in NCAA Division I baseball," Sherman remarked. "Through all of his hard work, he had a great sophomore season and a great summer." Yezzo, the 2012 CAA Baseball Tournament Most Valuable Player, returns as the Blue Hens' leading slugger after he produced a .358 (67-for-187) batting average with team-leading eight home runs and 46 RBI in 50 games.
